Chilton’s Young Musicians Showcase Their Skills

A special music showcase highlighted the talents of young players and singers at Chilton Primary in Ramsgate.
The event celebrated the progress made throughout the year by the school’s young players and singers.
The evening began with the Year 6 ensemble demonstrating their rhythmic skills with djembe drumming whilst performing a number of songs from around the world.
The guitar groups from Year 3 to Year 6 each performed a number, finishing with a solo rendition of an Ed Sheeran song by Dixie from Year 6.
This was followed by an inspiring solo piano performance from Alexander who is in Year 3, while a new addition to the concert this year saw drum soloists impress with their skills after only a year of tuition.
The evening ended with a number of tunes performed by the school choir, ending with the uplifting Green, Green Grass by George Ezra.
Deputy Head of School Hannah Cheshire said: “It was a fantastic show and everyone was so impressed with how our young musicians have developed their skill sets in the last 12 months.
“Chilton is proud of its music tradition and it is great that it is being upheld once again by our dedicated, enthusiastic and talented children.
“Big thanks go to our music lead Mr Redwood, guitar teacher Mr Coney and drum tutor Miss Taylor. The show was a real hit, full of smiles and pride.”
Chilton Primary School is part of the Viking Academy Trust with Upton Junior School in Broadstairs and Ramsgate Arts Primary School.
